Andrea’s keen eye for architecture comes from her great-grandfather who designed historical 1920s buildings, like the Italian style Teatro Municipal, in her birthplace of Cali, Colombia. Since her move to the Bay Area in 1990, she has leased, bought, sold and renovated old fixer-uppers in Oakland and Piedmont. Her latest project was the revitalization of a foreclosed 1933 home which she brought back to life.
Throughout her 25+ years in Advertising, Andrea cultivated her passion for helping others by borrowing Lucy’s ‘Doctor is In’ psychiatry booth sign (minus the 5¢) to openly listen and solidly advise clients, colleagues, peers, and friends. Her empathy-rooted approach involves tuning in with compassion, getting to know people deeply and delivering insightful guidance–whether it is applied to identifying unique opportunities, negotiating win-win outcomes, or keeping a cool head in the midst of turmoil. Here is what they have to say about her:
“Andrea is an absolute joy to work with. She is not only collaborative and sharp; she always brings new thinking to the table.”
“She is a strong leader beloved by many teams she has mentored and inspired, and a formidable partner admired and respected by peers and clients alike.”
“Andrea has one of the most strategic minds I’ve ever worked with”
Lastly is her resilience and perseverance for tackling challenges head-on; what she coins as ‘making delicious mojitos out of imperfect limes’. Andrea is a grateful and proud cancer survivor with a new lease on life. She pays it forward by inspiring others to lead a warm and heartfelt existence, in part by discovering and curating Homes You Heart.
P.S. A note from Andrea: “The home I heart has two beautiful children who have flown the nest but boomerang back to my heart’s delight, two fur babies who rule the roost, and a farmhouse kitchen table that draws in her circle for soulful connections over my latest culinary fusions paired with a bottle (or three) of wine.”
